Webdesign by Jean...
easy way to create a website and manage its contents. You can do it from any computer, with no extra programs to install!

  • Talk to me!
  • Think of what you want!
  • Think of colors and styles you like
  • Assemble your texts and images
  • You are the owner of your website
  • Visit many websites: know what you like/dislike.
  • Think of an index for your content (section, sub-section, pages). You are the only person that knows what you want in your website.
  • Think for the future and how your website will be evolving.
  • I install a Database Content Management System (CMS) so you can add, delete, change your website from any computer. No special skills... if you can use MS Word, you can update your website.
  • You will have to register your domain name (www.websitename.com) with a Registrar. Per year, the cost is around $15-20.
  • Once you have a domain name, there is not much to do except do not forget to pay them as your unqiue name will become available when expired. Keep a current email address with the Registrar.
  • Choose wisely. Your domain name will also become your email address. The shorter the better!
  • You can choose .com .net .org etc.
  • Once you have a domain name, you need a place to host your website: there are a lot of hosting companies around with various options. I have found a local hosting company that is doing great packages at low cost for about $10 per month. I have done a few websites and I do recommend them. Kebec's is hosted there and I am very pleased.
  • You'll find many cheap and very cheap hosting companies: beware.
  • For the CMS to work, it will require 1 SQL database.

Quality

I pride myself on great communication and a responsive service.
I am available and just do not ignore you once your site is created. You can rely on my expertise as you build and develop your site.

You’re in charge

It’s not your own website unless you can update the content yourself. I provide the foundation via the Open Source Content Management program in order for you to build your site in your own way and your own time.

People with ordinary computer skill -if you can type a letter in MS Word, you can built your website- are able to add and manage their own content.

Think about what you want in your website. This is important as I cannot do that for you. You are the person that know what you want. And pretty much like a book, you must have a clear image in your mind of the different pages or sections and content you want. Think of a structure of how you want to browse your website.

You get what you pay for

This is still very true. If you host your website with the many free-hosting companies, you'll end up with too many constraints, and a website that will look like many others and generic. And if your hosting company is "too cheap", you'll get what you pay for.
